What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file placed on your device by a website when you visit it. Cookies are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to give site owners information about how their site is being used.
Cookies can be session cookies — stored temporarily in your browser's memory and destroyed when you close the tab — or persistent cookies — saved on your device for a set period of time so the site can recognise you on your next visit.
Cookies can be set by the website you are visiting (first-party cookies) or by third-party services running on that page (third-party cookies).
Mobile app
The OOOPA iOS and Android apps do not use browser cookies. App-level data is processed as described in our Terms & Privacy Policy. This Cookie Policy applies only to the OOOPA website at ooopa.onrender.com.

How we use cookies
OOOPA uses cookies on its website for three purposes only:
- To make the site work. Some cookies are strictly necessary for the website to function — for example, to remember your language preference or to keep you logged into your account.
- To understand how the site is used. We use lightweight analytics to see which pages are visited most, where visitors come from, and whether anything is broken. This helps us improve the experience for everyone.
- To remember your preferences. Functional cookies remember choices you make (such as dismissing the cookie banner) so you are not asked again.
We do not use cookies to:
- Track you across other websites
- Serve you advertising of any kind
- Build a profile of your browsing behaviour
- Sell or share your data with data brokers

Types of cookies we use
Essential cookies Always active
These cookies are necessary for the website to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in a form. Without these cookies, the site will not work properly.
Analytics cookies Opt-in
These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting information anonymously. No data that could identify you personally is collected. We use this information to improve our content and site structure. We require your consent before setting these cookies where required by law.
Functional cookies Opt-in
These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make (such as your preferred language or whether you have closed the cookie notice) to provide a more personalised experience. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we use on our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, some features may not work as intended.

Note on analytics
Where we use analytics, we use privacy-preserving tools (such as Plausible or Umami) that do not set persistent tracking cookies, do not use fingerprinting, and do not share data with advertising networks. All data is aggregated and anonymised.
05
Third-party cookies
OOOPA's website may load resources from third-party services. Where those services set cookies, those cookies are governed by the respective third party's privacy policy, not ours. We minimise third-party cookie usage as much as possible.
Services that may set cookies
- Fonts (Google Fonts) — loaded from fonts.googleapis.com. Google may log the request. No persistent cookie is set by this service on most configurations. See Google's privacy policy .
- Payment (Stripe) — if you visit a checkout page, Stripe sets cookies to detect fraud and process your payment securely. See Stripe's cookie policy .
We do not embed social media widgets, video players, advertising networks, or data-broker pixels on our website.
06
Managing & disabling cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways. Please note that removing or blocking cookies may affect your experience and some parts of the site may no longer work correctly.
Via your browser
Most browsers allow you to view, manage, delete, and block cookies directly in their settings. Here are links to instructions for the most common browsers:
Via your mobile device
On mobile, you can clear or block cookies through your browser's settings menu (Safari → Settings → Privacy & Security; Chrome → Settings → Site settings → Cookies).
Opt-out of analytics
If we use Plausible Analytics, it is cookieless by default and no opt-out is required. If we use a cookie-based analytics tool, you can opt out by adjusting your preferences in the cookie banner, or by contacting us directly at hello@ooopa.app.
07
Consent & legal basis
Under the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are required to obtain your consent before placing non-essential cookies on your device when you visit our website from the European Economic Area.
Essential cookies
Essential cookies do not require your consent as they are strictly necessary for the website to function. We rely on our legitimate interest in operating a secure and functional website as the legal basis for these cookies.
Analytics & functional cookies
We rely on your consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)) as the legal basis for analytics and functional cookies. You can give or withdraw consent at any time via the cookie banner displayed when you first visit the site, or by contacting us.
Withdrawing consent
Withdrawing your consent will not affect any processing carried out prior to your withdrawal. To withdraw, clear the relevant cookies via your browser settings and decline optional cookies the next time the banner appears. You can also email us and we will help you reset your preferences.
08
Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or for legal, regulatory, or operational reasons. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of our website following the posting of changes constitutes your acceptance of those changes.
